2 dead, 2 injured in shooting, stabbing in Fairfax County

Police responded on Memorial Day to the 2200 block of Pimmit Run Lane in Falls Church section of Fairfax County.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Police are investigating a deadly shooting and stabbing in Fairfax County on Monday afternoon, the Fairfax County Police Department said.

Police responded on Memorial Day to the 2200 block of Pimmit Run Lane in the Falls Church section of Fairfax County.

The police department says one person was declared dead at the scene. That person was found shot to death in a laundry room.

Three others were taken to area hospitals where another of the victims died. That person had been found shot in the parking lot.

The other two victims were stabbed. The stabbing victims' injuries weren't considered life-threatening, according to police.

Police said the two stabbing victims were juveniles.

"We know for sure one [juvenile] was from Loudoun County and we're still piecing together where the others were from," said Fairfax County Police Department Deputy Chief Eli Cory.

Several suspects were seen running from the apartment where the shooting and stabbing took place. No suspect information has been released.

The police department said the group apparently met up at the apartment for some reason, but they couldn't say why at this point.

A backpack filled with narcotics was found at the scene.

"We haven't ruled anything out," Cory said. "We've searched the wooded areas. We've canvassed all of the adjacent complex areas to gather more infromation."

A knife was also found, but police were still looking for other weapons.

WUSA9 cameras also spotted police searching through two cars next to the shooting scene. A backpack could also be seen next to the cars. It is unclear what connection the vehicles and backpack have to the shooting and stabbing incidents.

Either way, neighbors said they were surprised to see such violence occur in their community.

"It's safe here; it's quiet," said neighbor Adam Tukenmez. "People are outside having a good time, family friendly here."
