Winds will be calm Thursday, but expect significantly cooler temperatures in the afternoon, only in the upper 50s and low 60s. There will also be more clouds Thursday. Thursday will be cold again with lows in the 30s and 40s. Some frost is possible north and west of D.C. Although it may be tempting to do some spring planting, it's best to wait a few more weeks.

Temperatures will stay below average through the start of the weekend before we soar back into the 80s by Sunday. Saturday will feature only a slim risk of showers under mostly cloudy skies.
Sunday, too, expect more clouds than sun with only a low chance for a spotty shower, but temperatures will bump up significantly into the low 80s.
Despite such a dry stretch of weather, we are still nowhere near a rainfall deficit. So far this spring (since March 1st) D.C. has picked up 6.92" of rain which is 1.02" above average.
