WASHINGTON — One more unseasonably cool day before a summer-like warm up.

Clouds will continue to increase throughout the evening ahead of a few showers to dodge on Saturday. The day will start dry before showers push into the metro area by 10 a.m. Hit or miss showers will continue throughout the afternoon before tapering off after 6 p.m. Far from a washout and not worth cancelling any plans over, but keep an umbrella handy if you do have plans to be outdoors. Temperatures will stay on the cool side for one more day in the upper 50s and low 60s.
By Sunday we are tracking high temperatures back in the low to mid 80s paired with partly cloudy skies.

The exceptional late-April warmth continues into next week. Monday could be the first 90 degree day in April since 2017! Temperatures will stay very warm for the start of May as well in the low to mid 80s.
Along with summer-like temperatures, we'll be tracking a few summer-like storms. Tuesday afternoon and evening will feature showers and the chance for isolated thunderstorms. We are monitoring the chance for a stray shower or storm Wednesday, but higher rain chances return Thursday and Friday.
