FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Law enforcement officials in Fairfax County had to re-arrest an inmate with a violent past who was accidentally released from jail.
The Fairfax County Sheriff's Office called it an "errant" release.
Several different law enforcement agencies including the U.S. Marshals took part in the hunt for Donald Bernard Lewis, 53, after he was released Sunday night and just walked away from the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
Law enforcement tracked him down Monday morning in Washington D.C.
