2 shot, injured in funeral fight, police try to identify suspect

The fight occurred in Frederick Co., and officials said the victims injuries are believed to be non life-threatening

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. — The Frederick County Sheriff's Office needs help identifying a suspect believed to be involved in the shooting that happened during a funeral Saturday.

Deputies were called to Jackson's Chapel in the 5600 block of Ballenger Creek Pike for reports of a shooting around 2:45 p.m.

Officials say a fight happened during the funeral and two people were shot.

Deputies say the suspect fled the scene after the incident before sheriff's arrived.

The victims were taken to nearby hospitals, officials said. The extent of the victims injuries are unknown at this time but authorities believe the injuries are non life-threatening.

Officials said they do not believe this was a random shooting.

Frederick County Sheriff's Office has released a photo of a suspect believed to be involved. However the suspect is still at large.
