Man, woman struck by Volunteer Fire Dept. vehicle in Rockville

Officials said the crash happened at the intersection of Beall Avenue and Maryland Avenue

ROCKVILLE, Md. — Authorities are investigating after a man and woman were hit by a Volunteer Fire Department vehicle in Rockville on Saturday.

Officials said the crash happened around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Beall Avenue and Maryland Avenue when a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado assigned to the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department struck the two.

Police said they are still investigating the cause of the crash. 

Both patients were transported to a local hospital, one of them in serious condition, according to Pete Piringer, spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.
