Crews rescue worker trapped in 14-foot ditch at Dunkin Donuts construction site in Montgomery County

The man was trapped up to his chest in the trench, officials say.

GERMANTOWN, Md. — Crews rescued a worker was trapped up to his chest in a 14-foot ditch at a Dunkin Donuts construction site in Montgomery County, Maryland, officials said.

The construction site is on Maryland Route 118 on Germantown Road between Middlebrook Road and Wisteria Drive. Police shut down nearby roadways while crews work to rescue the man. 

The ditch is 14-feet deep and 14-feet wide, officials said.

The man was eventually rescued and taken to a hospital. His condition is not immediately known. 

It's unclear how the man became trapped.
