WASHINGTON -- D.C. police have confirmed a fifth arrest in the fatal shooting of 10-year-old Makiyah Wilson.
So far, no suspect information has been released.
Four people have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Makiyah with the fourth being charged on Thursday, sources tell WUSA9.
Makiyah was killed on July 16 when a group of masked men pulled up to a courtyard in a black Infinity four-door sedan and fired into a crowd of people in northeast D.C., police said.
Three other people were previously arrested in connection with the homicide. Gregory Taylor, 23, Quentin Michals, 21, and Qujuan Thomas, 20, were charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting, police said.
On Wednesday, D.C. superior court Judge Craige Iscoe determined that there is enough evidence to send the murder case to trial, four months after Makiyah's death.
Judge Iscoe described the case as “an action of extreme violence that caused the death of a child.”
Taylor, Michals and Thomas remain behind bars. Police have not yet confirmed a fourth arrest.
