ARLINGTON, Va. -- Amazon is officially coming to town and its bringing a whole new community with it: It's called National Landing.

The new neighborhood will be just three miles from downtown D.C. with walking access to three Metro stations, a commuter rail and to Reagan National airport.

Well, the neighborhood isn't that new. Many of you may even live there already. The DMV went to sleep Monday calling this area Crystal City and after an Amazon announcement Tuesday morning, your home has a new name.

With the new headquarters located in Arlington, there are projected to be more than 25,000 full-time, high-paying jobs so this could be the perfect place to live for both new and current residents.

The approximately $2.5 billion in Amazon investment features 4 million square feet of energy-efficient office space with the opportunity to expand to 8 million square feet; and an estimated incremental tax revenue of $3.2 billion over the next 20 years as a result of Amazon’s investment and job creation.

According to Amazon's blog, the company will receive performance-based direct incentives of $573 million based on the company creating 25,000 jobs with an average wage of over $150,000 in Arlington. This includes a workforce cash grant from the Commonwealth of Virginia of up to $550 million based on $22,000 for each job created over the next 12 years.

The community and Amazon employees will benefit from the Commonwealth investing $195 million in infrastructure in the neighborhood, including improvements to the Crystal City and the Potomac Yard Metro stations; a pedestrian bridge connecting National Landing and Reagan National Airport; and work to improve safety, accessibility, and the pedestrian experience crossing Route 1 over the next 10 years, according to Amazon's blog.

Amazon's headquarters will also be shared between Virginia and New York.

The company announced it will invest $5 billion across the two locations, and create more than 50,000 jobs. Amazon had stipulated that it wanted to be near a metropolitan area with more than a million people; be within 45 minutes of an international airport; have direct access to mass transit; and have room to expand. It also wanted to able to attract top technical talent and be able to expand the headquarters to as much as 8 million square feet in the next decade.
