(WUSA9) - It's been a month of winning for the Washington Capitals and their fan base.
On June 7, the Caps won the franchise's first ever Stanley Cup.
On June 20, the mayor of Las Vegas, Carolyn Goodman, made good on her bet with DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.
As part of the bet, the mayor of the losing city had to wear the jersey of the Stanley Cup winning team.
Mayor Goodman wore an old Alex Ovechkin alternate captain jersey during a city council meeting on June 20.
She also sent Mayor Bowser a gift basket that included a bottle of Bombay Sapphire.
"I don't know if she drinks," said Mayor Goodman. "But after a few years in office maybe she'll start.
