Human remains found confirmed to be missing 16-year-old in Va.

The detectives who discovered the remains were there as part of the search for 16-year-old Palmer Marsh, who was last seen on May 2.

NOKESVILLE, VA -- Human remains found by Prince William County detectives canvassing an area of Nokesville as part of the ongoing search for a missing 16-year-old were confirmed to be the teen's on Thursday.

Palmer Marsh was last seen on May 4 after leaving his home on foot towards the wooded area near it two days earlier.

The detectives who discovered the remains were there as part of the search for him.

Marsh was last seen leaving his residence on Burwell Road in Nokesville, Va. on May 2. Police say Marsh left after a disagreement with a parent. He was reported missing by family on May 4.

His remains were first discovered Tuesday at approximately 3 p.m. in a wooded area near the 14800 block of Glenkirk Road.

They were taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Manassas for further analysis. Police say they're still trying to determine the manner of death.

Prince William County Police say there is no known threat to the public and say no foul play is suspected
