2 Va. men charged with hate crime after attacking man of Middle Eastern descent

They allegedly yelled at the victim to "go back to your country."

MANASSAS -- 2 Va. men were charged with a hate crime after assaulting another man while shouting “go back to your country,” police say.

Manassas Police say the incident occurred in the area of Ashton Ave near Sudley Manor Drive on May 14 at around 4 p.m.

A 35-year-old man told police he was cut off by a pick-up truck that stopped in front of his car. The driver and passenger of the truck began yelling at the victim “go back to your country,” and “you don’t belong here.” The passenger then grabbed and assaulted the victim before both suspects began to follow him as he drove away onto Interstate 66.

The victim pulled in a safety rest area and called police, causing the suspects to flee. The victim gave police a description of the pickup truck’s license plate, leading to the arrest of suspects Jimmy Lynn Greer, and Dustin David Greer.
