Road shut down after car crashes into power pole in Alexandria

An Alexandria road is shut down after a car crashed into a power pole early Wednesday morning, Fairfax County police said.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) — An Alexandria road is shut down after a car crashed into a power pole early Wednesday morning, Fairfax County police said.

The crash happened around 2:48 a.m. at Franconia Road and Park Terrace in Alexandria, Fairfax County police said.

Authorities stated that the crash triggered a fire in the transformer box.

There are no reports of serious injuries or any transports.

The road will remain shut down until crews can repair the pole. There is no estimate on how long those repairs will take.
