PaveDC plan to be introduced at 10th Annual Potholepalooza

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) — During the Kickoff of the 10th Annual Potholepalooza, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser will introduce PaveDC, a new plan to to fix all damaged roads and those in poor condition throughout Washington D.C. by 2024.

Potholepalooza is a month-long campaign run by the District Department of Transportation, in which they dedicate themselves to repairing damaged roadways across the District. The goal of this project is to create a safer environment for both vehicles and pedestrians.

The event will take place on Friday, April 6, at 11:00 a.m. at 14th and P Streets, NW, the site of the 14th Street NW Streetscape Project. This project is a $16.7 million investment in order to improve the roads, sidewalks and streetlights along 14th Street, NW, from Thomas Circle to Florida Avenue, NW.

Starting on Friday, April 6, DDOT will begin responding to resident and visitor-reported potholes within 48 hours, with the expected response time around 72 hours.
