Demonstrators clash over gun rights at March For Our Lives

Despite their views, after discovering they had something in common, the two men shared a handshake.

Overall, the March for Our Lives was a peaceful demonstration. But some heated arguments erupted, including a few that needed to broken up by police.

"If I’m one person standing for what I believe in, against a thousand, I’m still going to stand for what I believe in," said Brandon Howard of Hopewell, Va.

It began as a heated discussion between two men. One in favor of gun control.

"When I see the kids running out of school on TV, scared to death, running for their life, I think about my daughter," said Franklin Davis of Baltimore, Md.

"Any threat against the Constitution is a domestic threat against the Constitution, so I’ll always stand to protect that, said Franklin.

But then two combatants discovered they had something in common. Both are veterans. Both served our country in the Army.

The two men shared a handshake.

"I don’t agree with you. That’s the great thing about our country. We don’t have to agree but we respect each other," said Franklin.

The argument may be over, but a father’s worry over the safety of his daughter remains.

"Regardless of what kind of threat it is, it doesn’t matter," said Davis. "That’s my baby."
