A husband and wife were found dead inside a home of gunshot wounds in what neighbors describe as a quiet Maryland neighborhood Sunday morning.

The victims are Charles James Edward Jackson, 55, and Veronique Crystal Jackson, 47, both of whom lived in the home.

Lt. Ryan Frasure, spokesperson with Anne Arundel County Police, said officers responded shortly after 7 a.m. when a person inside the home at 2000 block of Brigadier Blvd. in Odenton called police to tell them two people were deceased inside the home.

The couple does have trauma to their bodies, Frasure said, noting their death was probably not natural, and that homicide detectives are on scene trying to piece together what happened. Police say they believe this is a targeted incident.

The person that called 911 is a family member and he is talking to detectives and is cooperating with police. Preliminarily police believe the incident happened overnight or early this morning.

There is no indication of a threat to the community and police do not have any suspect information at the time.
